please god(s) or whoever allowed our existence,
please, please, help us all stop fighting

we are all both wrong and right
we are all just foolish humans
please, let there be world peace
“Everything that angers us about others
can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.”
- C.G. Jung
(i.e., use external conflicts as a mirror for inner understanding)
possible roots of the problem

0. Anger
("The boat was empty".)

I. Lack of a safe space to change our minds
(As humans, we should feel comfortable changing our opinions and be in a endless search for self-actualization. Shaming this process is a mistake, especially because forgiveness - and alchemy - requires questioning former beliefs.)

II. Dishonest meritocracy and negative selection
(While I believe meritocracy is key to a healthy society - negative selection is dangerous - it is not trivial to define how to successfully apply this concept without first ensuring an accessible and high-quality educational system / opportunities.)

III. Resentment
("A feeling of angry displeasure at something perceived as a wrong, insult, or injury". Everyone experiences resentment at some point, but it's a mistake to weaponize this emotion.)

IV. Lack of humility and megalomania
(Much of the harm in the world comes from an unhealthy ego, yet, a strong ego is necessary to make progress. The true challenge lies in finding a balance between the two.)

V. Lack of knowledge about History and Philosophy
(So that we don't repeat the mistakes of the past and can understand the consequences of things.)

VI. Envy
(I don't understand the feeling of envy toward someone else's success, but I've experienced it directed at me throughout my life. It seems to stem from issues such as the pervasive anxiety and insecurity driven by consumerism and a lack of self-awareness - where the focus is outward rather than inward. The antithesis of envy is gratitude.)

VII. Tribalism and lack of courage to accept responsibility
(These days, honor seems forgotten, replaced by cowardice and complacency. Worse, when the attitude turns into a malicious sentiment where the tribe feels entitled to hurt someone who stands out.)
VIII. Lack of empathy and compassion
(There are 8 billion people on this planet. It's hard to grasp the true significance of this number, which can lead to the belief that lives are disposable - not sure whether moving to Mars could alleviate this problem.)

IX. "It is much easier to be feared than loved because love is preserved by the link of obligation which, owing to the baseness of men, is broken at every opportunity for their advantage; but fear preserves you by a dread of punishment which never fails." ― Machiavelli, The Prince
(Obviously we shouldn't just take the ol' easier path.)
Violence only breeds more violence -
it seems to be a law of the universe.
